We continue on our way westward across central europe, now to Regensburg, Germany. The weather was much nicer than on our day in Passau, which made photography much easier and colors brighter.

Regensburg cathedral viewed from our ship, the Swiss Sapphire, on the river

The ship's navigation room as we approach a low bridge.

The glass walls are lowered to go under the bridge, and only our captain's head sticks up.

Past the bridge we see an inevitable church, this one with an onion-domed  tower.

Beyond our ship's mast we see the Walhalla, a Parthenon replica just east of the city, which honors illustrious Germans.

As our ship proceeded on the river we saw a continuum of Walhalla views -- this is one of the better ones.

Another countryside church, this one with a crumbling 12th century castle atop the hill

I believe this church can be found with an Internet search.

We began our Old Town walking tour at the Steinerne Brücke, i.e., the Old Stone Bridge, built in the 12th century AD.

Our guide explains that to preserve it, this 12th century stone structure was built into the modern building.
