Lewis & Clark Expedition

After we viewed the falls our two
motor coaches took us back to the Sea Bird on which we continued west
in the Columbia River Gorge to the Bonneville lock, dam and power
station. As we approached the lock, our Expedition Leader, Lee
Fleischer, announced that anyone who would like to go through the lock
in a Zodiac should report to the ship's stern. It was quite cold and
windy so I deferred to others. Three Zodiacs quickly filled with
adventurers. That was almost half of the total tour group joining in
the fun! Important note: I took these pictures and posted this page in part to make available high resolution images for those who participated in this Zodiac adventure. Right click on the pictures here to open larger images in a separate tab. |
Here they follow Sea Bird into the lock. |

Lee Fleischer. You
can see Lee and Jim Napoli more clearly in this closer view. |
