Visit by Walt & Hazel and Dick & Lorraine
Conclusion of cruise on the Sacramento River,
Lake Wildwood cruise, and picnic at Bridgeport

The return trip went quickly as we cruised downriver back to Old Sacramento and docked.

Some had hot dogs and I joined Hazel as she introduced me to Falafel for lunch.  Very good.
Then we walked back to 2nd Street and caught the bus below for a quick loop to the capitol and back.

The next morning (Thursday, Sept 6) we toured Lake Wildwood in our pontoon boat.  Here's Dick and Lorraine...

...and here's Walt.  Then Dick and I played nine holes on the LWW course while Walt
and the ladies went into Nevada City to shop and have lunch at the Posh Nosh.

Friday, we packed a lunch and headed to the South Yuba River Park at Bridgeport for a picnic.
First we stopped at the visitors center, where Mary and Hazel scanned books at the sales counter.

Meanwhile, Dick said hello to the friendly bear.

Then off to see the bridge.

Same group, taken with fill flash.

Then lunch in a shady spot with a nice breeze off the river.

The bridge forms a backdrop for Dick and Lorraine.

Hazel tried her hand at gold finding a short distance down river.  No luck.

Then we all hiked back upriver to the bridge and parking lot, and on back to Lake Wildwood.
That evening, Baldasti and Snow treated us to delicious dinners at the Country Rose in Nevada City.

Saturday morning we had breakfast and said our goodbyes as we sadly watched Dick & Lorraine and Walt & Hazel climb up our driveway and out of sight in their cars.
