Part 10 -- Detail Greens, Start Wall

Work on Monday, June 13, 2011

Joints along curves, usually between smaller pieces, are made with small tape sections placed along the curve.

A joint is being made at the curved edge of the small green.

Sean lays a bead while Nik pushes tall-blade grass onto it.

Nik pushes the short-blade half of the joint onto another glue bead.

Nik cuts tall-blade turf in preparation for another section of joint.

Sean drives large spikes through the turf into the underlying gravel and soil.

Fredo trims turf along the path to the lake.

Sean and Fredo glue the edge of the hole cutout to the underlying grout edge.

Completed small green

Sean and Nik work on a straight short-blade turf joint while Tom and Brandon set out cinderblocks along a wall trench.

This perforated 4-inch flex pipe will be placed behind the wall and covered with gravel to make a French drain.

First course of blocks in the trench. Further courses will be added to make an 18- to 22-inch high wall, capped with used brick.
