Part 18 -- Disaster and Smiles
Work on Friday, July 1, 2011
Friday
morning we were greeted once again with two truckloads of stuff on our
driveway, this time decomposed granite for the the path between our house and Zirelli's and for Zirelli lawn above their front entry. |
And
once again it was delivered by a poorly maintained Rare Earth truck that
leaked oil on our driveway. This time, however, it was buckets of oil, so much that it soaked into the pile of decomposed granite. |
... and left two huge swaths of oil more than half way up the driveway. |
Near the top of the driveway the
stain narrows to one swath, but is still an unsightly mess. It's two weeks later (July 14) and the stain is still there. |
Hannah stopped by with her daughter at lunchtime. |
A smiling Hannah, with her daughter still smilling. |
Tony, Alfredo and Tom spread shredded redwood in the planters and, here, decomposed granite along the side yard path. |
Tony brings decomposed granite from the pile in the driveway. |
Meanwhile, Herb and Mary put up July 4th decorations, including flags along the walkway to the beach patio. |
View from on the lake -- all set for family and the July 4th boat parade. |
