Highlights of first 17 years of
Herb & Mary Lindberg Family Life

This year I decided that my wedding anniversary present to Mary would be a photo album of our early years together as recorded in slides that I've scanned. Future albums will be made from colored prints (I switched from slides to prints in 1972) which I have yet to scan. I selected only a few pictures of good to excellent quality from each period which told our story, so the album would be a reasonable size. The period covered spans from our first meeting in 1955 to Christmas of 1971, so even this tight constraint on selected pictures resulted in 101 photographs plus a more recent (September, 2003) photograph of Mary and me in Yosemite for the cover. The images for the album prints are mostly 940 pixels wide, to give a 4.7-inch-wide print at 200 ppi (two pictures per page in the 5.5-inch x 8.5-inch booklet). I've retained that size here so any of you can make prints if you like. That means you should set your browser to "full screen" (hit F11) to view the pictures here. When you're done, hit F11 once more to return to your previous viewing. A few of the early pictures have appeared elsewhere in "Old Photos" in smaller size.

Notes for Printing the Booklet
After viewing these pages, our daughter Barbara said she'd like the file I used to print the hard copy of the booklet. For convenience while writing it, I split it into two parts, both Microsoft Word documents. At Barbara's request I've uploaded the files to my web site so she and anyone else can download them for printing. Right click on the following links and follow your browser's pop-up window instructions to save each file to a location you choose on your computer:

The first file size is 10MB and the second is 11MB. I printed the pages double sided on high quality paper (semi-gloss photo paper) which I cut from 8.5 x 11-inch sheets into 5.5 x 8.5-inch pages, and then spiral bound the booklet with clear acetate covers, also 5.5 x 8.5-inch size. Please note that I increased the brightness on almost all the pictures in the Word files because my printer is printing darker than the nominal brightness of the images as viewed on my computer screen. You may want to print a few pages and tweak brightness to get best results from your printer (right click on each picture in MS Word and select "Format Picture...").
