As best I know, Marcia was
looking at the few
old photos I've been posting and was reminded that she has some
precious photos
of Gus that she would like to share with the family. She was going to
sort
through the prints she has, pick a few, and send them to a photo
service to have
copies made. When she told me of these plans I was very pleased, and
suggested
it would be much cheaper and more flexible to scan the photos and
distribute
them electronically.
She then told me she doesn't have
a scanner, and I
replied I'd be happy to scan them here in Lake Wildwood. After some
hesitation
because she didn't want to put me to any trouble, she replied a second
time that
she could mail a selection of photos to me for scanning. A package was
waiting in
our mailbox today when I returned home at 1 p.m. from a morning of
Grand Jury
work in Nevada City. In it were twenty photographs, of sizes ranging
from 3x5 inches
to 8x10 inches.
I scanned the photos and then
resized them to make
5x7-inch prints, and also cropped and resized another version of them
to be suitable for the
Internet. The raw scans of the larger ones can be used to make
8x10-inch prints as desired. I'll
burn CDs with all these versions and send them to Marcia for her
family. I can
make CDs available to others as you wish. On this page I give the
Internet
versions. Perhaps Marcia can suggest more pertinent captions.
