Appropriate to a Catholic university, the Immaculata Church is at the center of the campus and a focal point of the buildings and architecture. The pictures here were taken at the height of the Great San Diego Forest Fires of 2003, during which the sun appeared as a pink ball in the heavy overcast of smoke and fine dust particles. Lighting was therefore flat, as on a cloudy day, and the buildings were biased toward a pink color.
