98  Humbug Day 7 -- This is the second of a pair of shows on Humbug Day at Malakoff Diggins State Park, CA, taken on consecutive years. The first show, Humbug Day 6, https://youtu.be/1beFdx_RyFA, focuses on the town's historic buildings and the interesting artifacts in them. They constitute a snapshot frozen in time in the early 20th century because it was an active town suddenly and largely abandoned. The present show focuses entirely on outside activities created by park volunteers for an enthusiastic crowd of visitors. You can feel the enthusiasm for food, music, and re-creations of the late gold rush era.

97  Humbug Day 6 -- Humbug Day at Malakoff Diggins State Historical Park, CA is a BIG deal every June and not to be missed. There are lots of things to see and do as demonstrated in part by this show, with emphasis on its unique buildings and artifacts. A companion show (Humbug Day 7, https://youtu.be/bmVYUpMNZVg) completes the picture by placing emphasis on outside activities.

96  Ghosts of Bridgeport -- Docents play roles of key historical characters of Bridgeport, CA at the South Yuba River State Park as they bury the dastardly Yankee Jim. Something special like this takes place every October at what is now called Fall Festival. A good time is had by visitors as they go on wagon rides, eat hot dogs and ice cream, visit the Kneebone Shell Station, watch blacksmith and gold panning demonstrations, learn history of Wood's 1862 covered bridge, and enjoy the many ongoing activities at the park.

95  Living History Day -- South Yuba River State Park docents play roles of key people in the history of Bridgeport, CA each April. They also provide fun, food and art which have become more comprehensive each year at this Spring Festival.  This show was made before the bridge was closed for repairs and demonstrates what we look forward to again in the near future.  Support the Save Our Bridge effort.

94  Salmon Ceremony2 -- (YouTube and my software have improved dramatically since I published this almost exactly six years ago so I'm publishing this much improved version.)  Native Americans play an important role in the history of the South Yuba River State Park and this event was popular for several years. Many who participated will appreciate reliving the excitement. The complete story of this event is posted at:  http://lindberglce.com/SYRPAssoc/Recent/BarnOpening/BarnOpen1.htm
