Our Christmas logistics were a bit different this year from our usual late Christmas after the second and third generations have celebrated in the Bay Area. Instead, Dave and his family came up early (Dec. 20), celebrated an early Christmas here with Craig and his family on Dec. 23, and then stayed on to celebrate their more complete Christmas with Mary and me on Dec. 25. Meanwhile, Craig and his family drove to the Bay Area to celebrate with Jodie's family. Barbara and family came up on December 26, and then Craig returned for a visit on December 29. Whew, that's a mouthful. Here's a summary of the sequence as presented in Web pages:

This Part 1 gives a few shots of our Christmas tree, and then Craig and Jodie's visit on December 23 while Dave and family were here. Part 2 gives pictures from Christmas day with just Dave's family. Part 3 gives pictures of Christmas with just Barbara and her family, and Part 4 gives pictures of Craig and Jodie's visit on December 29 while Barbara and family were here. Whew, another mouthful, but don't worry, just move from one Web page to the next and it will all become clear (I hope!).

In the beginning ... Two days after Thanksgiving, Mary and I trekked into the Landsburg Tree Farm on Rt. 49, about 8 miles north of Grass Valley, and sawed down an 11-foot tree. We set it up in our living room the weekend before Dave and Mickie arrived, complete with Mary's Santa's Village.

The evening with Craig's family was mainly a simple get-together for dinner, followed by opening presents to and from Craig's and Dave's family.

Craig was also part of the group.

Meanwhile, Courtney makes moose ears behind Nik as Tyler looks on.

Mary had her glass of wine in the kitchen, to stay close to her cooking.

Tyler and Jodie open presents simultaneously.

Both are happy with what they find.
