The bus dropped us in Old Town where we walked through the grounds of Nurnberg castle and then to the buildings around Frauenkirche and on to the church itself and Hauptmarkt (square) which it faces.

One of several tour groups, including ours, enter the castle grounds.

We go up this hill, to the castle tower, and then around the other side of the building on the right.

Luginsland Tower, begun in 1377, dominates recent buildings.
Mary is in a striped shirt in the foreground.

Several tour groups fill the courtyard -- no clear shots possible

We've gone full circle around these buildings and Luginsland Tower still dominates the scene.

Hill, massive building, tunnel, and balcony make a great scene.

Schoner Brunnen (the Nurnberg Fountain) flanking Frauenkirche

Walking the steets near Frauenkirche Hauptmarkt (church square) to come

One of the eleborate entries to the building above

Statuary above the entrance (semi-naked tennis player on right?)

Side view of Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady)

Hauptmarkt (Square) with Frauenkirche on the left

Close-up -- cage built around statues in case they fall

The sun came out late in the afternoon to give this nice parting shot of Frauenkirche.
