Background and hints on using these Web pages

The Union publishes many articles that form background or give ideas for Grand Jury investigations. This small Web collects these articles from The Union Web site in electronic form, for convenient filing and the ability to cut and paste material from the articles for Grand Jury applications. I started to gather articles from the Sierra Sun in Truckee, but decided that following The Union is job enough. If you've read articles that don't appear here that you feel should appear, please send an email to that effect to Herb Lindberg, preferably with the link to the Internet page. I don't plan to monitor YubaNet but, again, please send links to pertinent material and I'll include it.

The limited articles collected so far are put into categories and then listed by publication date. Categories and organization can be modified later as Grand Jury use dictates. Click on a category to jump to a page of articles under this category. Click on an article title to jump directly to the specific article.

Note: Articles in each category are placed on a Web page for each month of that category. If you click on an article other than the first, the entire page up to that article must be downloaded, which takes a bit of time if you have a dial-up connection (not too long, but noticeable with dial-up). If you come "Back" to this page to select another article, the entire topic page to the article you select must be loaded again (Web browsers automatically save pictures for later use, but not text). Therefore, if you plan to read several articles on a page (in Planning, for example), it's best to click on "Planning" and then jump to the articles within the page from the page. Furthermore, if you plan to jump back and forth between large pages (those with many articles), open each page in a separate window so you can go back to each page without re-downloading. [Right click on the link and choose "Open in a New Window"].
